Amazon’s Twitch to add video uploads in new battle with YouTube.

At it’s first-annual TwitchCon, the video-streaming service announced that broadcasters will be able to schedule saved streams and uploaded videos to play any time of day.

Emmet Shear, chief executive officer of Twitch, announced that the game-livestreaming site will switch over fully from Flash to HTML 5 in the second quarter of 2016. As someone who uses Twitch on a daily basis, is subscribed to multiple channels and actually doesn’t own any platforms that the app is already available on that will stream to my TV, this is great news. You’ll get to keep your current user name (as long as it doesn’t contain invalid characters, in which case you’ll have to go through a few extra steps to make the transfer), and all your old comments will eventually (not immediately) migrate with you.
