2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Roadstar: Aggressive design, 6-speed transmission, fabulous features – all for $25K.

Mazda, the car manufacturer has made a few remarkable changes to their Miata roadster & they are prepared to test the vehicle in the market with the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster. Taking the automotive world by surprise more than 25 years ago, the Miata is considered today as a legendary sports vehicle that has achieved an automotive milestone.

Thom Bryant, a former Road & Track editor, was present for the first ride, and compiled a book entitled, “Mazda MX-5 Miata, Twenty Five Years” recently. With Mazda’s KODO design paradigm shining through, the new MX-5 Miata looks “incredible” as a “whole different beast” from its predecessors.

Hands-on road test from SlashGear told the whole story, as writer Chris Davies stressed that the new, fourth-generation MX-5 Miata is the first, that doesn’t feel like an evolution of the first-generation model. Making use of a high-tension cloth mesh, which is a thinner and lighter material than usual, the Miata’s seats promise “to mold around your body more readily, hugging you in place when you’re cornering rather than your shoulders slipping from bolster to bolster”.

Not exactly entry-level Kia prices, but if you want the wind blowing through your hair (or chillin’ the top of your head for us buzzcut people) it’s a nice price. And unlike a growing lineup of 2016 sports cars that have sacrificed engine power and appeal for practicality in today’s market, the MX-5 remains a force to be reckoned with. A front four-cylinder engine and independently-suspended wheels in the rear and in between, a conventional user controlled 6 speed manual transmissions.

Along with the treat of owning one of the world’s most beloved sports cars, Launch Edition customers also receive a special plaque in their car’s driver-side door jamb with Launch Edition badging, a Mazda-badged Bose® Mini SoundLink® portable stereo system and a box of gifts from Mazda’s Heritage Collection apparel line. The latest edition to the MX-5 lineup is one that delivers performance, comfort, and luxury in one shot, whereas previous editions left drivers feeling that they had been cheated out of something that they could have otherwise had in a better designed auto. The Club trim ($28,600) is, curiously, the only one where buyers can add the $3,400 Club Brembo/BBS Package, which includes Brembo front brakes, 17-inch BBS wheels, a rear bumper skirt, and side sill extensions.

Responsible for donating more than $7.6 million and pledging more than 120,000 charitable service hours over the past two years, Mazda Drive for Good continues to provide monetary donations and community service throughout the year. The middle version of the car, the Miata Club will cost $ 28600 while the most expensive version, the Miata Grand Touring will cost $ 30065 and has many more features that the other versions. The expected mileage is also the point to consider as manual transmission will yield about 27 to 34 miles per gallon and automatic transmission will yield about 27 to 36 miles per gallon. That’s actually a slight decline from the previous Miata’s 167 horses, but a necessary tradeoff as fuel economy is improved on both models – 27/34 mpg for the manual, 27/36 mpg for the automatic. With a base price just below $25,000, Mazda’s latest 2016 edition Miata still possesses the simplicity in form its famous for, and still boast lots of fun.

While the MX-5 Miata isn’t going to win you any drag races, it also doesn’t have a blinking sign painted on it screaming for state troopers to pull you over.
