No surprises as Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge priced Rs 49,900 upwards.

Samsung Galaxy S6 might be priced between Rs 49,990 and Rs 54,999 while the Galaxy S6 Edge to cost between Rs 64,990 and Rs 69,999. (Source: Express Photo by Nandagopal Rajan) The new Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones were launched in India on Monday with almost the same prices as we had called latest last week.

The first 1,000 shoppers will receive a free wireless charger and screen protector worth RM280, and the opportunity to buy the Green Emerald variant (while stocks last) which is exclusive to Maxis. The flagships will see a complete redesign of Samsung’s premium Galaxy smartphone look which now incorporates a slim body made aerospace-grade aluminium alloy and glass surface on the front and rear. Samsung’s new Exynos processor built on the 14nm process, which it claims to be the first for a mobile processor, will be powering these smartphones, moving away from the regular Qualcomm Snapdragon.

The devices will most likely be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (S6 only) and Green Emerald (S6 Edge only) but availability of the colours might depend on the region. Camera features include: Quick Launch, Tracking AF, Auto Real-time HDR(Front & Rear) , F1.9, Low Light Video(Front & Rear), High Clear Zoom, IR Detect White Balance, Virtual Shot, Slow Motion, Fast Motion, Pro Mode, Selective Focus. On the connectivity front, the devices offer WiFi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), HT80 MIMO(2×2) 620Mbps, Dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, LE, apt-X, ANT+, USB 2.0, NFC and IR Remote.
