New Pixi smartphone: Windows, Android and Firefox OS are running on this Phone / detail.

Alcatel is coming out with a new phone that’s not just user-friendly but also OS-friendly: it’s compatible with Google’s Android, Mozilla’s Firefox OS, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone. “By opening the phones up to three different systems, it might be tricky for Alcatel to ensure a good user experience for every Pixi 3 owner, but the company at least has experience with all three operating systems,” The Verge said. It said Alcatel explained its move by saying users “don’t want complicated systems – they want something familiar from their work environment in the office.”

According to the Technology site The Verge, the new Pixi 3 has a 3.5-inch display 3G model, and three larger models measuring 4, 4.5 and 5 inches and with LTE. Other details about the phone—like its specs—aren’t coming out until CES proper, and chances are they won’t be anything mind-blowing, and you’re probably going to be better off just buying a phone that’s made up its mind about what operating system it wants to run. The only question is since Alcatel is now the owner for the good old “Palm” brand, are we going to see one of these running WebOS?! (No, no we’re not.
