New Xbox One Experience Roll-out Starts Today.

While the focus seems to be squarely on the Xbox One and the New Xbox One Experience lately, Microsoft hasn’t forgotten about the Xbox 360 and has announced a few upgrades for the last-gen console. After launching an Xbox 360 Preview program a few months ago, Microsoft is ready to roll out some of the new features for the console, and they’re some pretty big ones. UPDATE (09/18/2015 9:30am PT): It appears that the first wave of the NXOE preview is going to be rolling out to a subset of preview program members starting this weekend.

As previously reported the following games may suffer graphical issues, or may stop working altogether: When big updates like this are released, obviously people want to get an early look at what is coming. Another interesting update is the ability to connect your Xbox 360 to networks that require Terms of Use acceptance — like hospitals, hotels, and other public places). While the current Xbox Dashboard Preview program has been pretty stable with its monthly updates, Microsoft has released a detailed list of what issues users can expect to face should they be accepted into the program. Other updates include changes to the Activity Feed which will allow Xbox 360 users to like, comment, and share friend’s activities, as well as post new messages, watch game clips, view screenshots, and see what your friends are playing on their Xbox 360, Xbox One, or Windows 10 devices.

If you have any of the games above, which include two major new releases then the answer is probably no, unless you are willing to risk seeing problems with your game. Obviously these will be fixed but the fact that Microsoft are warning ahead of time of possible issues, this is a sign to be wary of simply rushing into this update. The full list of issues users might encounter appears below courtesy of Windows Central: Elder Scrolls Online: Logging in to an existing character will cause an error indicating you do not have network connectivity and prevent you from connecting to the server.

System Update Errors: If you encounter an update error screen while downloading a system update and the console freezes, please wait 3 minutes before rebooting the console to ensure crash data is captured. Xbox Button: While holding down a button on the controller or plugging in a racing wheel and pressing the Xbox button, the power menu may pop up after which the Xbox button will fail to recognize input. Basic SmartGlass functionality is now available including gamepad navigation, touch navigation, remote text entry, media playback control, and companions for apps and games.
