Best Buy iOS and Android sale includes iPhone 6s and Galaxy S6 for $1.

For a limited time, Best Buy is offering the 16GB iPhone 6s for only $1 when you sign up for a two-year contract with Verizon or Sprint. We’re seeing a whole mess of deals lately thanks to the holiday season, and today Best Buy unleashed many more, offering discounts several smartphones and tablets. For one, the offer only applies to Verizon VZ -0.76% and Sprint S -0.42% versions of Apple’s smartphone, leaving AT&T T -0.56% customers out of luck. You’ll need to keep in mind that those devices are the lowest storage levels — 16GB for the iPhone and 32GB for the GS6 — but if that doesn’t bother you, then Best Buy’s sale is worth a look. Apple AAPL -1.98% often has an iron-like grip on its product pricing, so it’s somewhat surprising to see Best Buy offer such a steep discount on the company’s most popular product.

While the move was viewed by some analysts as a way for Best Buy to boost sales, some also said it suggested the company was looking to deplete its stock of Apple Watch in anticipation of a second-generation model to be announced in March. The company announced on its website that this weekend only, customers who buy an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus will be able to double the amount of memory for free.
