Google distributes new version of Glass designed for professionals.

The revamped version of Glass reportedly does not include the wire-like frame of its predecessor but rather its mini-computer attaches to eyewear via a button-and-hinge system.

Google is quietly distributing a new version of its Glass wearable computer aimed at businesses in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing and energy, according to people familiar with the situation. No official launch is scheduled for the device, which Google is hoping to be working in various professional milieus by fall, after software developers work with it to create specific programs. – AFP Relaxnews Google doesn’t plan to officially launch the new version, the people said, a far cry from the skydivers who brought the first version to a Google conference in 2012.

Around December, this plan was scrapped, the people added, and the Glass team was moved out of the Google X research lab and into the Nest connected-home division, led by former Apple Inc executive Tony Fadell.
