Jeep Wrangler Named on KBB.com’s 2016 Best Resale Value List.

Subaru was named the top mainstream brand for resale value, with four winning models. For the second year in a row, took home Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Brand award for, well, having vehicles with the best resale value in their segment.

It’s a scary truth we all have to face when we consider purchasing a new car, so it’s important to look at vehicles that retain their resale value extremely well. KBB’s overall top 10 cars for resale for 2016 includes the Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, GMC Sierra, Jeep Wrangler, Subaru Forester, Subaru WRX, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Tundra. KBB’s editors describe vehicle depreciation as “the greatest expense incurred by drivers in the first five years of vehicle ownership” and predicts the average 2016 model year vehicle will only retain about 35 percent of its original value over five years. The Wrangler established itself as a true American icon, retaining 64.3% of its value over the course of 36 months and 53.9% of its value over 60 months. With the no-frills base Wrangler Sport trim starting with a price tag just under $25,000, you might say that this rugged Jeep’s resale value is quite the number.

Add the fact that many Wrangler owners add aftermarket parts to make it even more off-road ready, and the Jeep Wrangler will definitely get you more bang for your buck. The prestigious website studies current vehicle data, sales data, market conditions, competition within each vehicle’s segment, future economical expectations, and the experience of its marketing and pricing analysts.
