LG Remains Quiet About New V10 Specifications; Smartphone’s Ticker Display Leaks.

Back in August, a filing at China’s FCC counterpart (TENAA) revealed one of LG’s upcoming devices: one that apparently features a secondary display on top, next to its camera. The images showed what seemed to be an unremarkable device albeit one with the unusual design choice of having the front-facing camera built into the display. Also, on the back side of the smartphone we can expect to see a 16MP camera with laser autofocus, dual LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there will be a secondary 5MP selfie camera.

We have just been greeted by our first comprehensive look at the secondary ticker display which is all set to be the headlining feature of the upcoming LG V10 smartphone. It seems that, after the G Flex series, LG wants to revolutionize the world of smartphones once again by unleashing a smartphone that comes with an atypical secondary display placed on top of the main one. The video doesn’t give out any details about the device, other than giving a model asymmetrical bangs that match the camera-secondary screen combo at the top part of the display.

Evleaks called it the LG V10 when the images above were leaked and likened its secondary display to that of the Samsung Note Edge’s, which shows app icons and extra details, depending on the open application. The “auxiliary ticker display” of V10 is also said to be used to show RSS feed updates, text messages, and other notifications, similar to how Samsung utilised a similar feature in the Continuum handset. The teaser doesn’t reveal anything else about the phone, but the rumor mill has been very active lately and has leaked most of the specs of the device already. With all the latest smartphone innovations in the market, fans and critics alike assumed that LG’s V10 smartphone will have its own edge over today’s top Android phones. Other assumed specifications that the new smartphone would include are 64GB internal storage availability and microSD expansion card slot ideal for music, movies, and other media.

You’ll get to keep your current user name (as long as it doesn’t contain invalid characters, in which case you’ll have to go through a few extra steps to make the transfer), and all your old comments will eventually (not immediately) migrate with you. We’ve been told that the selfie shooter will be of the 5MP variety, but if we take into consideration the current teaser, the smartphone might actually come with a dual selfie camera. We’re very interested to hear what LG has to say about the peculiar secondary display and how exactly the system will end up working and what extra functionalities will be added into the mix.
