Facebook boss promises to support Muslims on social network.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is offering words of support for Muslims who fear retaliation for the recent violent attacks by Islamic extremists in Paris and San Bernardino.A few nights ago, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump created an uproar (and received some applause) when he suggested Muslims should be banned from entering the United States.

Zuckerberg did not refer specifically to any proposal, but the co-founder of the world’s biggest social network said, “As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities.” If you’re a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.

He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, became parents at the end of last month—and marked the occasion by launching a new philanthropic LLC, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
