Motorola Droid Turbo 2, Maxx 2 Pamphlet Leaks: Features, Launch Date, Trade-In …

Droid Turbo 2 will feature ‘shatterproof’ display and Moto Maker customization.

The site discovered that the Droid Maxx 2 (Verizon) is among the listed devices which are optimized for Android screen mirroring, based on the Google’s help files for the Chromecast. Apparently, all that is left to do now is wait and see if Verizon corroborates the latter statement and if DROID Turbo gizmos will indeed receive the upgrade and more importantly when will they receive it? Motorola and Verizon have sent out press invites to an October 27 event in New York City in which the companies will unveil their 2015 line of Droid smartphones.

We still have no idea how Motorola has managed to accomplish this, or exactly which materials have made the latest Droid’s display so durable. (Perhaps we’ll see a return to plastic?) Both companies must be pretty confident of the phone’s toughness if they’re willing to make “shatterproof” an actual selling point. Instead of having to settle for the black and red flavors and those alone, Moto Maker should allow a much wider range of design customization options. Both phones will be highlighted with a trade-in program offering up to $300 for a used phone (remember that Verizon recently nixed its phone subsidies). The leaked ads also reveal that you’ll be able to personalize the Droid Turbo 2 through Moto Maker, marking the first time Motorola’s customization tool will extend to cover the Verizon-exclusive Droid line.

Users will get to enjoy a different type of control when it comes to Apps Permissions, discover the new Google Now functionality plus the neat Doze element. Even though, many rumors in the past have given umpteen configuration related information, the leaked pamphlet picked up by Droid Life provides key details about the phones. As for the app drawer, which will also roll out with the Android M upgrade, this will show you some of your most used applications and as always we have saved the best for last: the fingerprint scanner.

And it’ll definitely be fascinating to hear the story on this “shatterproof” screen, so keep it locked on The Verge as we get closer to the Droid event later this month. To top it all off, Motorola is planning to offer a promo deal via Moto Maker, where the company will let the buyer to “refresh the outer design” one more time, in case a 64 GB variant was purchased.
