Google Nexus 5 (2015) photographed in the wild.

If this isn’t the real deal, someone went through a lot of trouble to make a fake that matches the leaked images that made the rounds a few days ago.

The latest picture leaked out by Inno Yudha on Google Plus shows the backside of the LG Nexus 5 2015 handset complete with the trademark branding the line is known for and a range of different circles. There are also a bunch of stickers obscuring parts of the view — but if you’re wondering what the phone looks like without the stickers, redditor DeadSalas applied some Photoshop magic to give us a better (albeit slightly more fake) look. The renderings showed off a smartphone that looks nothing like the Nexus 5 along with a huge circular space on the back which was speculated to be where the fingerprint sensor would be placed at. It also has a rear fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port, and its protruding camera appears to have the same laser autofocus sensor as the LG G4 – a feature that the Nexus 6 appears to lack.

Some early reports have suggested that the phone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, although it’s possible it could use a different chip. For the past few weeks, there are lots of rumours surrounding the Nexus device (2015) surfaced online, which is reportedly equips a fingerprint scanner.

As pointed out by popular YouTube tech reviewer Marques Brownlee, Google+ user Inno Yudha has posted the above (poorly framed and slightly blurry) image of a mysterious new Nexus phone. But according to information obtained by @onleaks and uSwitch, the camera, fingerprint scanner, buttons and ports should all be positioned as shown in the renderings. We’ve seen numerous reports suggesting that the next Nexus 6 will feature a 5.7 inch display and that Google is developing the phone with Chinese device maker Huawei. Additionally, GSM Arena also pointed out in their report that the camera lens for the Huawei Nexus 6 is going to be positioned differently, as the renders indicate that it will be on the nearly far right rear of the casing.

Either way, it’s expected to measure 159.4mm x 78.3mm x 6.6mm at its thinnest point (and 8.5mm near the top of the phone, where the camera is located). Assuming Google will still follow the trend of when they release their new flagships, Techno Buffalo predicts that the company will most likely release these two flagships probably around October.
