Check out Facebook’s awesome new 360-degree video featuring LeBron James.

On the web you can do this by dragging around the video with your cursor, and on mobile devices you do it by dragging with your finger — or even just by turning your device.Action camera maker GoPro Inc has posted a video on motocross riding in the Idaho desert, while Vice Media has released a video of on-the-ground reporting in Afghanistan.

Facebook announced that it’s rolling out 360-degree video in News Feed, and LeBron James was among the first to be featured by the company with this new technology. You’ll be able to hold up your phone and the 360 video will follow you as you turn, looking around, to experience things from all over the world like never before. ‘In the future, imagine watching 360 videos of a friend’s vacation to a small village in France or a festival in Brazil — you’ll be able to look around and experience it as if you were there,’ Facebook said. The firm has signed up several publishers to launch the system, including Star Wars, Discovery, GoPro, LeBron James & Uninterrupted, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and VICE. If you’re watching the video on Android, you can drag your finger around the screen to explore the complete 360-degree view of the entire scene — or you can turn the phone on its side and move around inside the video.
