Android users can now say ‘Ok Google’ to send messages via WhatsApp, WeChat, NextPlus, Telegram, and Viber.

Google Now will be able to send messages using WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, Telegram and NextPlus in English at launch, though Google plans to add more support for apps and languages in the future.”Just say, ‘Ok Google, send a WhatsApp message to Joe’ — after which you’ll get a prompt asking you to dictate your message,” the firm said in a blog post. In April, Google launched custom voice actions on Android, allowing users to control select third-party apps simply by starting with the “Ok Google” command.

The company is opening up its Google app to third-party services so they can provide users with more features while also offering an experience they can’t get anywhere else. If all this sounds good, make sure you have the latest version of the messaging app, the latest Google app and you’re now ready to safely text while you’re driving. In an attempt to attract even more people and cover more users’ needs at the beginning of 2015 Whatsapp launched a calling feature for Android, iOS and Windows.
