OnePlus 2 Spotted on TENAA Certification Ahead of its July 27 Launch.

Less than a week before its official launch, the specs for the OnePlus Two and images of what the device will look like have already been leaked revealing a smaller size and what appears to be a fingerprint reader. These images appear to show front, back and side profiles of the next-generation OnePlus smartphone, which looks like it’ll include a physical home button similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 – presumably where the built-in fingerprint sensor will be housed … The home button itself is pill-shaped, very much like home buttons found on other Android devices like the aforementioned S6 and the HTC One M9 plus.

The OnePlus 2 is expected to launch on July 27, just five days away, and will be broadcast in virtual reality for those who own a little Google Cardboard or another VR headset. It’s hard to tell exactly from these images, but it also looks as though the front panel is now going to be one solid panel of glass, without the small ridge between the front panel and the rear casing. We already knew that the device should feature USB Type-C and fingerprint scanner—in fact, you can see the presence of the latter in the above images. This is almost certainly the OnePlus 2’s “lightning quick” fingerprint scanner, which the company announced late last month with the claim that the technology is faster than the iPhone’s TouchID system.

Although the frame itself now looks like a brushed aluminum of some kind, the back panel will seemingly retain the rough textured plastic (at least on the black model). Alongside OnePlus 2 the company also seems to be working on a design centric smartphone which will cater to a special audience preferring design over other aspects of the smartphone. Although the image appears to show the standard Sandstone Black finish, like the original, it’s anticipated that the company will offer alternative finishes on the back. In terms of what’s inside, OnePlus has already offered up a reasonably detailed breakdown of specs: you can expect a Snapdragon 810 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, dual SIMs and a 3,300mAh batter. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed on Twitter that it will be under $450, but beyond this, it looks like we’ll have to wait until the launch event on July 27th to find out more.

That said, the camera appears to have been moved further down the body and includes a new sensor which we assume is the laser-guided autofocus, similar to that found on the LG G3 and LG G4. After a successful launch of the OnePlus One flagship device and an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen, OnePlus is now trying out new and innovative ways of marketing its next flagship. The company said on the blog that, “some people thought it was too difficult and time consuming to obtain an invite or thought it was all some big marketing stunt.” For this reason, a few key improvements to the purchase experience has been made. Of course, there’s a chance that it’s just the virtual lighting in the digital render playing tricks with my eyes, but I’m happy to dream for now. It will also come equipped with 4GB RAM, the new USB 3 Type-C connector, a 3,300mAh battery and feature the new, improved version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chip.

I’m a big fan of how it feels in the hand and even though it’s technically a bit taller than the G3, it doesn’t seem to affect the overall experience. As far as specifications, the G4 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) IPS Quantum display, which is the same in size and resolution as its predecessor.
