Interrupt your friends’ gaming with new PlayStation Messages app for iOS and.

Following the example set by Facebook’s Messenger app, Sony’s launched a PlayStation equivalent for iOS and Android, dramatically improving on its messaging offering.

And now, following its latest update, PlayStation App also lets you follow verified accounts of select developers, designers, producers, and community managers, and keep track of their activities in the app’s What’s New section. Previously bundled in the PlayStation app, Sony mentions that Messages was broken out into a standalone client featuring a more streamlined design “in order to get you into your Messages and communicating with your friends faster than ever before”. This all-singing, all-dancing app launched two years ago, providing a way to manage your downloads, control your PS4 remotely, buy game content from the PlayStation Store, and message your gaming friends. So those who are still unaware of, PlayStation Messages app is completely separate app which players will be prompted to download and install as soon as they access the “Message” feature on main PlayStation App.
