‘Street Fighter V’ will get new characters, but you’ll have to fight for them.

The popular fighting-game franchise will avoid releasing new updated games after its original release, series producer Yoshinori Ono announced on Saturday.Capcom representative Matt Dahlgren recently gave some “Street Fighter V” updates during his appearance at the EVO 2015 Street Fighter V Panel in Las Vegas. Previous entries had full-game updates, as Capcom added changes and new fighters; there was 2008’s Street Fighter IV, 2010’s Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition later that same year and finally, Ultra Street Fighter IV in 2014. Also note that Necalli will have the ability to go into ‘Super Saiyan’ mode and unleash some devastating attacks – that’s what fans are already calling it anyway.

Capcom has released a trailer and a bevy of new screenshots showing off the Necalli, who seriously needs a hairbrush as his hair is wild when not braided. However, he did not give a hint or reveal the fighters’ names. “We feel that’s a good balance for a very diverse roster, but not being too overwhelming for new players to hop into the game,” he said. His V Trigger ability sees his dreadlocks go completely demonic, comparable to a Dragon Ball Z going Super Saiyan, though his bestial mannerisms will remind Street Fighter fans more of Blanka. “Hailing from a mysterious background, Necalli utilizes a wild, animalistic fighting style to brutalize his opponents,” Peter ‘Combofiend’ Rosas explains on PlayStation.Blog entry. “There’s no finesse here as all of his attacks have been forged through the heat of battle to inflict maximum pain upon his opponents. However, beneath the surface of the crazed warrior lies a hidden genius that is unleashed upon V-Trigger activation.” Necalli’s V-Skill is called Culminated Power, in which he pounds the ground to create an explosion.

Street Fighter 5 is about to enter its beta on PS4, so look for that to begin on July 23 with four characters (Ryu, Chun-Li, Bison, and Nash) at launch. However, Fight Money can only be attained by playing the game, whereas Zenny can be purchased with real money so players can instantly access the content. When asked if classic and alternate fighter costumes will be made available to choose in the future, he replied, “Of course!” He went on to say, “I mean, if you look at what happened with Street Fighter 4, there’s tons of variety in terms of costumes.
