Tales of Berseria coming Westward for PS4 & PC

Bandai Namco officially announces a US release for Tales of Berseria.

Tales of Berseria, the latest game in the long-running and prolific Tales RPG series, is heading to PC as well as PS4, publisher Bandai Namco announced today.

The 16th game in a series that goes all the way back to 1995’s Tales of Phantasia, Berseria follows the exploits of Velvet, a pirate with a rather monstrous magical hand, in a world where men and animals have, of course, been corrupted by dark spirits. Velvet will visit a wide range of breathtaking environments as she travels the world in an all-new adventure developed by the celebrated team behind the Tales of series. Given the development pace of recent Tales games, it’s not out of the question to guess that the game could arrive in America in late 2016 or early 2017.

The story seems to deal with an apocalyptic event that turned people into werewolf-like creatures, and a protagonist that has some demonic powers of her own. They also said that they’ve recruited several Tales veterans (Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Minoru Iwamoto, and Daigo Okumura) to create the characters and creatures for the game. Based on the series’ Linear Motion Battle System, the default control is free run, you can rotate the camera freely, and multiple artes can be assigned to any of the four face buttons, allowing you to link them together in attack combinations.
