Android users can now say ‘Ok Google’ to send messages via WhatsApp, WeChat, NextPlus, Telegram, and Viber.

In April, Google launched custom voice actions on Android, allowing users to control select third-party apps simply by starting with the “Ok Google” command.

On your home screen, say, “Ok Google, send a WhatsApp message to Kellen: You partying in NYC with Diddy tonight?” All you need to do is look for Google play store on your device and tapping on that app will take you Google store. The downloading process of Whatsapp is pretty simple any users with even no technical knowledge can follow these steps to download the latest version on Android platform.Google has announced it is expanding messaging support with Google Now today, allowing you to send message with only your voice to contacts on WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, Telegram and NextPlus. Well, Google, the virtual Santa Claus has gotten something like that ready just for us and a Google Now update is all that is needed to fulfil all your dictation fantasies. You may find out that the coffee shop will be more bearable if you wait an hour, or that the grocery store won’t be quite so packed if you shop on Wednesday.

Although available only in English, the feature is expected to follow soon for local languages as well and forms part of Google’s drive to displace other virtual assistants in the market, that include the likes of Microsoft’s Cortana and Apple’s Siri. Furthermore, the company says it will be working to add more apps and languages “in the future.” In January, Google updated its main Android app with a big enhancement to Google Now: Serving cards from third-party apps right when they have timely information to provide.

Another new feature that has arrived with the latest update is “Mark As Unread.” By tapping longer on a conversation, users will be able to see a new Mark as Unread option listed along with archive chat, delete chat and so on. The company is opening up its Google app to third-party services so they can provide users with more features while also offering an experience they can’t get anywhere else. There is no option to manually perform the backup, but when the app automatically tries a backup at 4 a.m., it will show a notification that the backup was unsuccessful. Once it is done, the app will automatically start performing backup for all the data such as conversations and photos excluding videos on the Google Drive.
