Telltale’s Game of Thrones Adaptation Still on Course for 2014 Debut.

Despite being highly anticipated, we haven’t seen much of Telltale’s Game of Thrones game yet. With 2014 drawing to a close and Telltale remaining pretty quiet on the subject of the episodic series, many had given up hope of seeing anything before 2015.

Now Telltale’s Community & PR Specialist Laura Perusco has confirmed to a fan query on Twitter to let on we can expect the first episode to be coming out in 2014. “No specific release date announced yet, but I can confirm that the season IS premiering later this year,” reads Perusco’s tweet. So far Telltale has teased that their foray into Westeros will in some way involve House Forrester, a clan sworn to House Glover of Deepwood Motte. with mention of the Ironwoods of Godswood in Winterfell. By my count there’s about two months left before we all make New Year’s resolutions to go to the gym more often and stop drinking Mountain Dew—resolutions that no human being could possibly keep for more than a month a day.

With little over two months to go until the end of 2014, the studio is rapidly running out of time if they are to squeeze out the first chapter like Perusco suggests. We learned that Destiny scribe Joshua Rubin had left Bungie to work with Telltale, with all signs pointing to his involvement in the studio’s pixelated rendition of Westeros. Furthermore, a recent tease from the company itself seems to suggest that the series will orbit around some of the minor characters of A Song of Ice and Fire, including the likes of the northerly Forrester clan.

In related news, the studio’s aforementioned The Walking Dead: Season Two is set to shuffle onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday, October 31st.
