Google ‘Who’s Down’ App Won’t Keep You Waiting On Text Messages To Learn Who Can Hang Out.

Google Keep is a fairly useful note-taking application that links up with your Google account to keep all of your items synchronized across your devices (and the Web). While you’ve previously been able to dump a lot of content in the app—notes, to-do lists, photos, and even audio reminders—there are still other ways to interact with a note-taking app that have haven’t yet made it to . Here’s Google’s tagline for the new app: According to screen shots, Who’s Down has a sliding button that users can switch on or off to indicate whether or not they’re around.

How many times have you sent out a group text message, surveying your friends to see who wants to hang out, only to get a delayed response or no response at all? If you’re the kind of person who’s now thinking about all the finger-tapping art you could create, know that Google Keep’s abilities are somewhat limited. Once confirming that you’re free, you can add a status message to let your friends know what you’re down to do — whether it’s hitting the bar for a couple of drinks, grabbing some grub or going to the movies. Use the feature to trace out a visual representation of an idea you have—perhaps a thought for a logo, or something else you want to save for later—but this isn’t what you’ll want to use to create little masterworks on your smartphone or tablet. You can start your drawing through Google Keep itself or by a little widget you stash on your Android homescreen, which Google will be updating to include an icon for drawing.

As of this article’s writing, Google has yet to update the version of Google Keep on the Google Play store to 3.2.435, which contains the new drawing features.
