Netflix launches a new universal app for Windows 10 devices.

Netflix has launched a new universal app for Windows 10, as the video-streaming giant becomes the latest in a line of companies to embrace Microsoft’s new operating system. The new version of the app is based on Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform, which is designed to work across all Windows 10 devices – including PCs, tablets and phones. Rebuilt from the ground up, the new Netflix app replaces the existing version in the Windows Store and though they’re not hugely different at first glance, the new app does sport a refreshed interface and some new integrations.

The updated browsing experience offers vertical scrolling through categories and horizontal scrolling through titles, while a new details view includes “large, cinematic artwork for the show or movie” as well as content suggestions. “Our members on Windows run across many different screen sizes, resolutions and scaling factors. Moreover, what you’ll now find is a consistent experience across mobile and desktop, as the responsive design automatically optimizes to suit the form factor of the device it’s used on.
