Now sign into Gmail with Yahoo Mail.

During an October redesign of its email app, Yahoo added support for Microsoft Outlook and AOL Mail. “Yet, something was missing from the list,” Yahoo acknowledged today. “All the features you need and love in Yahoo Mail – powerful search, smart contacts, rich compose features and Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign-in – are now available with Gmail,” said Shiv Shankar, a Yahoo Senior Product Manager. “You can now search across your entire history of emails, from day one, for all connected mailboxes! (Not just your most recent emails, which is how it’s done in many apps today).” Multiple mailbox support for Gmail within Yahoo Mail launched on Thursday in the mobile app and on the desktop browser.

Yahoo has added a new feature to its Mail app that allows you to integrate your entire Gmail account into the webmail service — even enabling you to search and find attachments. Yahoo this week also introduced a new Video Guide app: “Our first step in bringing you an easier, faster way to find and stream your favorite movies and TV shows in the cord-cutting age,” Robby Stein, senior director of product management, wrote in a separate blog post.

The feature will let users manage their accounts seamlessly by syncing their activities like moving mails across folders, deleting e-mails etc to Gmail accounts. It was important to get the Gmail access on board, simply because Google’s email service has 900 million users, as per figures of May provided by Statista (an online portal that provides statistics and survey results). Test the Mood Picker, where you can look for a thriller with a romantic twist or a dark comedy; tap the GIFs that best match your mood, and the service will make recommendations.

This move comes at a time when Dropbox has just announced that it will be shutting down the Mailbox app early next year (Read more here ) which could make Yahoo! In an update to its iOS app, the blogging platform also added 3D Touch for iPhone 6s owners, while users can also access the new Send-a-Post feature, Paper Plane button, and Messaging. The new Yahoo Mail also brings with it a smarter search, which will only display relevant messages; and a smart contacts manager that makes suggestions based on users mailing habits. You can also see the entire archive of mails with attachments sent and received on Gmail till date, as well as compose new mails, attach files and send.
